Eve hurried to Viggo’s side and saw Edmund was still unconcious. “Edmund” she shook him but got no reponse whatsoever. She couldn’t tell if he was breathing or not so she placer lips on his and breathed. After a couple attempt he finally responded, his chest rising and falling as he breathed. However his eyes were still closed.
“Over here!” Eve turned as someone yelled that and Viggo went to the railing, seeing it was Jacob, holding Maddie. The pirate threw a rope to them and managed to help them aboard.
“Someone get them a blanket, please!” Eve turned to the crewmen, a comanding tone in her voice, and the hurried to bring what she asked. Edmund’s head was resting on her lap and he was feeling very cold because he was completely soaked. The men brought three blankets, one for each, and Eve wrapped it around Edmund’s cold body. She looked at Jacob and saw with relief both him and Maddie were alive and well, the boy taking care of her.
Maddie suddenly woke up, sputtering out any extra water she held. She frantically looked around, taking in her surroundings, and saw that she was safe with Jacob. With a blanket around her, she felt better even though she was soaked to the bone and breathing heavily. Maddie looked over to see that her brother was safe aboard the ship but he was still unconscious. “Is he alright?” she called out, her voice weak but filled with worry.
Eve turned when Maddie suddenly let out all the water she had taken in and she let out a sigh of relief seeing that the girl was fine. When she asked how Edmund was she answered with a worried look in her eyes “He is alive. But still unconcious…” Her hands were gently caressing his face, hoping that he would wake up soon.
Liam rushed to the deck just in time to see his daughter run over to Eve’s side to cry over her brother. His heart sank. Quickly he went over to them and was by the other side of his son, who was pale and clearly unconscious. He was alive at least. He asked for someone to explain to him why his two children were soaked along with Jacob. Viggo explained and Liam angrily cursed himself. “Alright someone help me carry him over to his cabin. Don’t just stand there and watch, you bloody pirates. No, not you, Jacob. You see to Maddie’s aid, yeah?” He added as he saw the young boy about to volunteer himself. Liam beckoned to Viggo and they both carried Edmund back to the cabin. “Come along, Eve. I know you want to follow.” He called out. The two men brought his body into the room and then gently laid him on the bed, wrapping the blanket tighter around him. Viggo lit up some candles and brought in more blankets for his friend. Liam sat by Edmund’s side and looked down upon his pale son with an angry look. “You bloody fool. How could you?” His voice was low but was filled with both fear and anger.

“Liam, did you mention that one time when we were first starting to see each other? When you had that accident?” Rowena smiled at her new husband. Their family members listened in to what Liam Bellamy had to say because it seemed as if he had an interesting story to tell.
“Oh yes. I remember.” Liam chuckled. “Well, I took you to that old cathedral in Glasgow on that summer day and we went inside. There was all those old ancient artifacts and no one was around so what were we gonna do? Just leave? No sir. I was the adventurous sort so I went and took an old cutlass. Bad mistake, too, I must add.” A couple people, including Rowena, laughed at his statement. Liam chuckled as well. “Me being young, I swung that blade around like I was a hero or something. Well, I was stupid because I swung it too hard and the hilt hit my face right in the nose and I fell backwards, causing a massive avalanche of random artifacts to run over me!”
Laughing, Rowena took his hand in his and gave it a squeeze as she turned to face the audience. “And guess who had to save him?”
“Yep, it was dear Rowena,” Liam admitted, looking abashed but proud. “She got me out of that mess. From then on, we haven’t been to a cathedral until now.”
They both looked at each other, her blue eyes boring into his brown ones, each filled with the love they discovered together some time ago. Liam then glanced down at her abdomen, beckoning towards the guests. She gasped with joy and quickly turned back to them.
“We have some wonderful news to share with you all!” Rowena exclaimed, her hand safe in Liam’s.
Everyone looked at them with amusement and excitement. “What is it, my dear child?”
“Liam and I…” she started off with a huge smile. “are going to have a child!”
Rowena and Liam exchanged a quick kiss as everyone shouted with joy and threw their congratulations at them. Their lives were just beginning.
||Time Alone||
Liam Bellamy was hidden outside, beside the thick tree that stood only a few feet away from the lake. He leaned against the tree and stared at the hazy waters in front of him with his hands stuffed in his pockets. Eve’s pregnancy has been rough for him; it brought back old memories of when his wife was pregnant. Those thoughts led to other memories of just Rowena. Good Lord, had he missed her. He had to admit that it was his fault. Liam had issues with drinking and that affected his relationship with his family, leading to the death of Rowena. There was nothing he would wish for than just wishing to see her again and to apologize for everything he’s done. But it was impossible. She was long gone. Liam’s been wishing day after day for four years to see Rowena for even a minute. He stopped his drinking since then, but there was no use for hoping his wish to come true. She was dead and no matter how hard he wished, she would not come back. There wasn’t a way for her to either. Sighing, Liam gently banged the back of his head against the trunk of the tree in aggravation.
